Eco-friendly packaging

Being a sustainable and conscious brand isn’t just about the clothes. We believe it’s a complete ecosystem that impacts all areas of the business. Production, packaging and shipping are key areas we have also focused on to become 100% sustainable. Overall we’ve banned plastics from our packaging. Instead our stockists and wholesale clients get their KLEED garments in stylish, biodegradable courier bags made from vegetable starch. We wrap our kimonos in non-pollutant acid free and recycled tissue paper, which is printed with soy ink. Our KLEED product tag labels are made from organic GOTS certified cotton or from biodegradable cardboard, and our thank you cards are made from recycled paper.

KLEED has always been inspired by nature. From our prints, to the materials and methods we use, our ethos is that beautiful loungewear should always respect the Planet and wildlife, and the people that produce the garments. It is our responsibility to leave the smallest footprint possible. Which is why we partner with suppliers who equally care for the Planet by producing nature inspired packaging. With each order, our clients receive a bit of nature.

Our wrapping paper

Unlike many wrapping papers, our beautifully crafted paper which we use to wrap our garments is 100% circular by being FSC-certified, and can be composted or recycled after use. The tissue is incredibly soft and showcases our KLEED designs of nature and animal illustrations, which are imprinted in soy ink.

Fun fact: our tissue paper is printed with soy-based inks, on FSC-certified recycled paper, and is acid, sulphur, and lignin-free.

Our craft mailers

Our paper mailers are made from 100% FSC-certified recycled paper, with nature inspired illustrations that decorate the ensemble. Conscious packaging can also be beautiful and our customers love the look and feel. Long gone are the days of dreary and low quality recycled paper. These are durable, high quality and harmless for our Planet, and can be reused again.

Fun fact: our mailers are printed with soy-based inks, on FSC-certified recycled paper, and are acid, sulphur, and lignin-free.

Our wood crafted
clothes hangers

In our mission to become 100% plastic free with our packaging, we use FSC-certified wooden hangers for our garments that are plain, unpainted and unvarnished. Not only are these better for the environment, they are beautifully made and much sturdier compared to plastic hangers that usually bend or break. This keeps our beautiful KLEED garment structure intact, and if the hangers are properly cared for they can last a lifetime, which reduces unnecessary waste. Furthermore, sustainable wood is resourced from certified renewable forests that preserve biodiversity and maintain the landscape and ecosystems of the world.

Our clothes labels made
from plastic waste

Our sustainable labels are 100% made from collected ocean plastic waste. So instead of making labels with raw materials and taking more resources from the Planet, we can help tackle ocean plastic waste by turning it into something useful and usable.

Fun fact: recycling 1 ton of PET saves 7.4 cubic yards of landfill space.

Our clothing tags made
with certified cotton

Our clothing tags are made in India using certified organic cotton and tied to our clothes with original Masaii string beads. These bead ties can also be worn as a unique bracelet.

Fun fact: the Masaii beads represent Maasai cultural values and traditions and each colour holds a special meaning. You can find out more: https://thomsonsafaris.com/blog/5-things-didnt-know-maasai-beadwork/

Our KLEED Journal
and Lookbook

Our KLEED Journal and Lookbook are entirely made with recycled paper. By choosing recycled paper instead of non-recycled paper, we use less energy and water for the manufacturing, which also helps to produce lower carbon emissions and reduce the amount of waste to landfill. We launch a new edition of our newspaper with each new collection to keep our customers updated with KLEED’s world and news.

Our courier bags

Our courier bags which are used for department stores and stockists are made from vegetable starch and completely biodegrade in 3-4 months, leaving no toxic residue. Meaning these bags are harmless to plants, animals and all the environment.

Fun fact: If you put the bag in boiling water, it will totally disappear! So our bags are 100% biodegradable.
